Each year in July, Supreme, National District and State Department Leaders, Grand Masters, Grand Matrons, Worshipful Masters, Worthy Matrons and local entity leaders merge on Detroit, MI to engage in discussion about the affairs of IFAMM, Inc. and OES as well as hear from the Supreme President/CEO. The 33rd Degree Council and Rose of Seven Seals Auxiliary also meet.
The Supreme Convention is like an annual family reunion where members from all over the Order come together to hear reports from all departments, engage in education workshops and have time to enjoy the host city. Elections are held every other year. Every member is eligible to attend the Supreme Convention from an EA all the way up as well as new members of the OES. The 33rd Degree Council and Rose of Seven Seals Auxiliary also meet.
Every year around Labor Day Weekend, members of the Imperial Council and Imperial Court come together to acquire a wealth of knowledge and hear lectures from Shrine leaders. Attendees also witness the march in of both the Nobles and Noble Ladies during the banquet. There is a wealth of knowledge to learn about Shrinedom and this is the degree where that unfolds.
This is one of the largest conventions held each year, where members from the Exalted Degree Department (Royal Arch Masons, Knights Templars, Sublime Princes, Heroines of Jericho, Amaranths, Lady Knights, and Royal Ladies come together to learn more about their degree and discuss goals accomplished throughout the year as well as engage in education workshops and sessions.
One of the most departments in our Fraternal Order is the Marshal's Department, they serve as the police when we are in meetings as well as in our lodges and chapters. They keep order, are reminding us of timeliness during meetings and assist in collecting offerings as well as a host of other duties. They do an awesome march in during the Supreme Convention and at their own convention.
There are 10 National Districts within our Fraternal Order, with six of them active. Each National District/Jurisdiction is comprised of a number of states and an annual convention is held for members to come together and engage in meaningful education sessions, hear what is going on throughout the states and interface with the Supreme President/CEO and other Supreme and National District Leaders. It is important for those within the National District to attend and meet other brothers and sisters.
International Masons and OES has lodges and chapters in 36 states and the Bahamas. Every State holds a Grand Session annually where new officers are elected, affairs of the State are discussed, educational workshops are held and members are encouraged to fellowship with one another. Every member should attend their State's Grand Session and visit others if possible. You never know what you can learn when traveling and who you may meet.
